Sungrow released its updated turnkey central inverter solution SG6250HV-MV, which is flexible to tackle the emerging demands and brings much more benefits for stakeholders of solar plants.
With the launch of the SG6250HV-MV already underway in key European, Latin American, APAC markets, we’ll focus on the product’s key functionalities, the situations it can address and why it makes the perfect solution for more than just power conversion.
Brief introduction of SG6250HV-MV
The standard 40-ft container integrates two units of SG3125HV outdoor central inverters, 6.25MVA MV transformer, Ring Main Unit (RMU), auxiliary power and communication parts altogether, which minimizes the land utilization and enables cost savings on the transportation, installation, commissioning and O&M, enabling an optimized LCOE.
Storage on the DC-side, providing grid stability
The proportion of renewable energy in the power system is gradually increasing, which poses a great challenge to grid safety. At the same time, due to the continuous increase of module power, the increasing over-proportion of PV power plants has led to serious restrictions on the power generation of plants. In this case, the DC coupling system can help the owner to alleviate the above-mentioned problems.
The SG6250HV-MV is integrated with a built-in ESS interface, supporting bidirectional charging power. Each SG6250HV-MV can connect to 60 units of DC-DC converters and more than 2 units of a 10MWh battery system.
Fully in compliance with IEC 62271-202/212
At present, many countries have put forward requirements for integration solutions, such as IEC 62271-202/212 and there are also certification requirements for equipment apart from inverters. Meanwhile, a more stringent IAC test of the whole PV inverter solution has appeared to ensure the safety of service and O&M personnel, which makes skid solution a necessity.
The SG6250HV-MV is fully in compliance with IEC 62271-202/212, and the outdoor RMU and roofless design can completely meet IAC test requirements.
Interfaces for protection function tests for VDE 4110
European PV site certifier will require additional function testing of protection devices inside the inverter. For the function testing of all protection equipment interfaces shall be provided that allow tests to be carried out without requiring changes to the wiring. These shall be mounted so as to be easily accessible. Sungrow already has a reference of this function test, so the solution will be integrated in the LV cabinet of SG6250HV-MV, no more devices needed on site for the function test.
We will take a closer look at the SG6250HV-MV central inverter in a webinar on April 12th, introducing Sungrow’s latest innovation solutions for utility-scale applications. You can get more details about its ability to connect storage on the DC-side,compliance for IEC 62271-202,and the test terminal for VDE 4110. Besides, the webinar features a special section of a VR factory tour at Sungrow. Just join us and register here. Our experts will provide some tips, tricks and best practices to help you boost #PV plus #ESS system value.
